abstract:Schuh, the footwear retailer owned by Genesco, has introduced single-shoe purchases across its store network to meet the needs of customers with limb differences or disabilities who require only one shoe
In practical terms, the company will be offering single shoes at a 50% discount, taken from new pairs. This service will also be available through Schuh’s customer experience team for those unable to visit the stores in person.
“Creating an inclusive shopping experience is a key part of our business strategy. I am delighted to be able to roll out single-shoe purchases to all Schuh stores. We have been doing it via our customer experience team for some time but now, even more people will have access to the hottest brands and products through this inclusive product offering”, commented Chief Retail Officer, Neil Partington.
The initiative aims to strengthen Schuh’s commitment to disability equality. The retailer has worked to increase the representation of disabled people, with 10% of the brand’s product imagery this year featuring models with disabilities or visible differences. The brand’s social content has also been made 100% accessible, with image descriptors and enhanced captions.
