In line with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standard, Apple of Eden has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting sustainable practices with the publication of its first sustainability report. For Nelson Gomes, the brand’s CEO, this document “underlines our unwavering commitment to a greener and more ethical future. At Apple of Eden, we believe that style and sustainability can coexist harmoniously, and this report is a testament to our ongoing efforts to make a positive impact”.

The company has in place a strategy of “continuous improvement in the areas of employee welfare, working practices and environmental requirements, outlining a roadmap for sustainability in the short and long term”. “The well-being of our employees, the proximity and high standard of labour practices in the supply chain, and the quality and environmental requirements for the production of our shoes are not in question, on the contrary, they are the core of our business!”, stresses Nelson Gomes.

For Apple of Eden's strongman, “the journey doesn’t end here; we’re motivated to keep improving our performance”. That’s why all the partners need to be involved “in a common journey towards a more responsible future”. This first report will therefore be “a critical tool for assessing the current state of its business practices”. Having established a starting point for its ESG strategy, Apple of Eden will share its sustainability awareness and key impacts with customers, employees, partners and stakeholders.

Apple of Eden was one of the first companies in the sector to promote the development of a Sustainability Report, following in-depth scrutiny throughout 2022. In addition to non-financial information, the document provides a comprehensive analysis of its actions in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) fields, involving the company’s employees and partners. Divided into six categories – Value Chain, Product Quality, Responsible Sourcing, Responsible Business, Human Capital, and Production Process –  the document also highlights the company’s integral commitment to ethical practices.
